Dock Characteristics

SEA FRONT

Port Destination for companies, Docks and Terminals of Quintero Bay (Enap Aconcagua, Copec El Bato, Puerto Ventana, Gasmar, Oxiquim, Codelco and GNL).
The port infrastructure is mainly dedicated to the movement of liquid, solid and gaseous bulk.
The Terminals carry out their activity on the northern and eastern edges of the bay, in a sector that has gradually become an industrial sector of fundamental national importance.

In the southern sector of the same bay is the ASIMAR Dock, located in the best place in the Bay, with deep waters and protected from the prevailing winds and tides.
The characteristics of the bay, and especially the ASIMAR Dock, have allowed various maritime activities to develop in this sector, in a very particular harmony and supported by the Communal and Maritime authorities, seeking to achieve a permanent port activity.

The Asimar Dock is 96 meters long.
Surface supported by 51 piles (17 deep by 3 wide), at an average distance of 6 meters, which are 1.5 meters in diameter.
On the surface of the quay there are 8 mooring bitts.
The Dock consists of a mooring buoy, suitable for ships of up to 7,000 T.M. of displacement, located to the NW of its head.

Mocheta and defense measures:

A) Between sidewalk and mocheta end 1.85 meters

B) Between sidewalk and extreme defense (with a defense) 2.35 mts.

C) Between sidewalk and defense end (with two defenses) 2.95 mts.

D) Height from the water line to the upper part of the low mocheta 4.5 mts.

BERTHING SIMULATION SHIP OF 116 MTS LENGTH WITH CRANES TO PORT

Maximum draft to dock at the Dock is 5.8 meters for a ship up to 126 meters in length (UKC 0.98 mts.).
In the head the depth is 8.3 meters and 69 meters. of the head, the probe is 7.3 meters.

Maximum draft of ships that have previously unloaded oversized packages is approx. 5.6 meters. There has been berthing with ships bow North and bow South, according to the convenience of the ship to unload the packages it transports.
