LOGISTICAL SUPPORT OF ASIMAR

30 YEARS OF TRAJECTORY

Since 1984 Asimar S.A. has been a key player in the development of maritime-port activities in the Quintero Bay, providing logistical support to the main energy companies in the country, the community and the Chilean Navy

In its more than 30 years of experience, the unloading of Oversized Packages has been carried out efficiently, demonstrating that the good administration and operation of the port area has made it possible to optimize the available resources, with very diverse, safe and efficient activities.

ADVANTAGES FOR UNLOADING OVER SIZE PACKAGES

ASIMAR DOCK

  1. The unloading of oversized packages through the Asimar dock, generates a significant reduction in the total transfer time, due to its proximity to the companies in the area, both with respect to the Port of Valparaíso and San Antonio;
  1. The land transfer from Quintero (Asimar Dock) produces a lower environmental impact in land transportation, city and interurban routes, than in ports and cities, which must face an operation like the one described;
  1. Considering the above, there is less risk of accidents and possible damage to oneself or to third parties, therefore savings in indirect expenses should also be generated in this way, through insurance premiums;
  1. The direct expenses for clearing routes and civil works to reinforce bridges or remove objects are significantly lower than those generated in other ports, due to the shorter distance to be covered and mainly due to the fewer existing obstacles for the transfer of this product. type of load;
  1. The exclusive layout of the surface of the dock and embankment, which Asimar offers its client, for the necessary pre- and post-unloading operations, when a ship with oversized packages arrives, allows for greater safety and ease of operation;
  1. The permanent interaction with the community of Quintero and its authorities by Asimar S.A., allows an agile and efficient communication with all of them, facilitating the processing of the corresponding permits and solutions to any difficulties that may arise for these operations.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES

Route: Muelle Asimar, Quintero - Con con

The experience of Asimar S.A. The year 1989 begins, with the shipment of the Belfi crane that is used to drive the piles of the Ventanas Wharf.

The maximum weight mobilized was a package of 220 tons, but it is not the maximum possible to unload, if the ship adjusts drafts and meets max. length.

SCAN HANSA (2001)

Although the ship exceeds in approx. 55mts. the length of the quay, the unloading was carried out without complications. The work of the NORTH buoy on its port bow was very effective both at berthing and during its stay.

proximity of the cranes to the pier for the unloading of the 220 TM package.-

Over-size package (220TM) at the time it is unloaded from the Scan Hansa ship, on the specialized equipment that will transport it to the destination.

SCAN OCEANIC (2001)

View from the surface of the dock, at the moment when a second package begins to be unloaded from the ship.

The wide dock capacity for the operation is appreciated.

Over-measure package, at the moment it is unloaded on the special equipment for ground transportation.

The mooring bollards can be seen and the proximity of the ship to the surface of the dock is perceived, thanks to the fenders that are prepared for this type of work.
